⛈️ Cleanup begins after storm downs trees
Heavy rain on Tuesday toppled trees across Arlington, including on GW Parkway. Power outages and blocked roads disrupted commutes as crews worked to restore service and clear debris. 

🚒 Firefighters rescue residents from blaze
ARL crews responded to a stairwell fire early Thursday on S Quebec Street, rescuing multiple people via ladder. Two were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigation is ongoing. Huge thanks to our first responders!

🚰 Drought risk exposes water gap
Arlington and D.C. lack a true backup water source—leaving over 1M residents vulnerable if the Potomac becomes unusable. A fix is years away.

🎭️ Signature’s ‘In the Heights’ shines
The acclaimed production earned praise for spotlighting immigrant voices, Latinx artistry, and community strength—just miles from D.C., and during a politically charged moment for the arts.

Productions from Yorktown, Wakefield, and H-B Woodlawn earned 15 Cappies nods—D.C.’s version of the Tonys for high school theater. Winners will be announced June 2 at the Kennedy Center.
