🏢 New Events Venue Coming to National Landing
JLL and JBG Smith are teaming up to open The Concorde, a 12,000-square-foot events and conference center at 2011 Crystal Drive. Opening in January, it’s part of a $40M makeover steps from the airport and future Amtrak station.
🌮 Cafecito Comes to Courthouse!
Formerly Mumu Cafe, this cozy spot is now serving horchata lattes, carne asada quesadillas, and locally made Mexican pastries under new owners — with outdoor seating and longer hours coming soon.
🏫 Alexandria Principal Heads to Arlington
Alexander Duncan III, principal of Alexandria City High School, has been named the new principal of Washington-Liberty High. He’s the second ACHS leader in a row to join Arlington Public Schools. Duncan starts July 14.
👩🍳 DMV Chefs Judge Student Cook-Off
DMV culinary pros judged the K12 National Cook-Off finals at Arlington’s Kitchen of Purpose. Ninth grader Isla P. of Texas took home the top prize after wowing judges with skill, creativity, and heart.
⚽ Arlington U-17 Team Heads to Presidents Cup
Arlington Soccer’s 2008 White boys team clinched a spot in the Eastern Regional Presidents Cup after winning the Virginia title. MVP Izac Meredith and standout goalie Bek Celep led the charge. A win in Valley Forge means Nationals next.
🌧️ Flooding Hits Arlington Streets
Scattered storms brought heavy rain Friday night, causing localized flooding across the region. Viewer footage showed waterlogged roads along Columbia Pike and South Greenbrier.

One of the largest flag football programs in the country is back for Fall 2025! Open to boys and girls; registration closes July 13.
